TRAFFIC: Traffic can be an issue, especially during the peak tourist seasons and when snowbirds flock to the city. However, if you're accustomed to traffic from a bigger city, it might not be as bothersome. Remember, it's often more seasonal.
HURRICANES: Hurricanes are a concern for many considering Fort Lauderdale. However, they do more move relatively slowly, giving you ample warning. It's advisable to have proper flood and hurricane insurance, but it ultimately depends on what you're used to in terms of natural disasters.
COST OF LIVING: The cost of living in Fort Lauderdale is above average, mainly due to the influx of tourists. Prices on groceries, food, and drinks can be high, especially during the winter months. To save, consider shopping further away from the tourist areas.
TAXES: While Florida is known for no state income tax, property taxes are relatively high. This is one way the State compensates for the lack of income tax. However, the amount of money you save having no state income tax far outweighs slightly higher property taxes!

PERFECT WEATHER: With an average of 75 degrees year-round and 325 days of sunshine, Fort Lauderdale weather is a dream. The summers may get a little sticky, but the winters are heavenly.
LIFESTYLE: Fort Lauderdale offers a plethora of lifestyle options, from beach activities to fine dining, night clubs, and shopping. There's something for everyone.
DIVERSITY: Fort Lauderdale is a diverse city, with over 100 languages spoken and a welcoming community for people from all over the world.
CONVENIENT AIRPORT: Fort Lauderdale International Airport makes travel easy. It's accessible from almost anywhere in the city, allowing you to explore the world conveniently.
HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION: Fort Lauderdale offers several property tax exemptions, including ones for seniors, veterans, widows, and disabled individuals.
